Baoning Village
Baoning is at the northeast side of Yongan
Siang, the extension part of Weisiin.
Except for fish ponds in the low land of
Bamboo Kang ditch, most areas, few in
Yongan, are used for planting vegetables
and yams- In 1980, Yongan Junior High
School was separated from Cianfong Junior
High School in Cangshan. This village
has been related to Wushulin Jhuang and
the west side was used for fishing fanning
and was also the site ofWushuUn salt field,
now the wetland with high educational
function.
Yatian Village
Yantian Village is at the northwest comer
of Yongan and was in inner sea. The
location of clustering, formed during salt
field development during Japanese ruling
over Taiwan, is on reclaimed land.
Clustering was the dorm of people
working on salt field, and the well-
arranged community housing had been
built and planned in advanced, different
from those of traditional clustering and
being the latest development in Yongan.
Most settlers came from Beimen, Tainan
and had family names as Chen and Huang.
The site of Singda Power Plant of Taiwan
Power Co. Covers Yantian Village.
Singang Village
Singang is at the connection site of west
Yongan and Taiwan Strait, the original
sandbar of inner sea. Two most populous
areas of clustering are Singangku and
Wulintou. "Singangku" was named
because of the change of route to the sea
of Agongdian River.
Singang is the most industrialized village
of Yongan Siang, the home of Taiwan
Power Plant and Liquid Gas Received
Station. Yet, most people make a living on
fish farming and net fishing in this very
traditional fishing village. |
